Of all Shatta Wale’s Jamaican collaborations, the project with Epik Music is the most circulated and widely promoted, not only on social media, but on several important platforms across the globe.
Earlier this year, a live studio recording was shared on Facebook, with Wale recording an African tempo Dancehall track. The recording seemed a ‘joke’ considering how calm he was whiles rattling words on an Epik Music produced beat. Somewhere in May, the finished work was released through Epik Music CEO’s Facebook platform and also circulated by Shatta’s Carribean Manager and Dancehall Promo.
The single, ‘Dancehall Girl’, has traveled the length and breadth of popularity in Jamaica and UK, as well as other top countries like USA and Italy. The sole promoter behind this great achievement is Epik Music. He’s owned the song and unflinchingly pushed it across several platforms. Since released, Dancehall Girl has been on the playlists of Real Flames Radio; Napster, Dancehall Infusion; Spotify, and has been rotated severally by Seani Bee on BBC and other International media platforms.
Earlier this year, I made a publication and mentioned without mincing words that Shatta Wale has arrived as a big name in world Dancehall. He’s been on several Riddims and has work with A-list Jamaican producers. What is left is a well planned promotion of his good works, a feat Epik Music has began in earnest. A cool visuals of this great banger would augment the already International stride ‘Dancehall Girl’ is enjoying.
